British social realisms in films are based in urban gritty areas in the city where everyday people are used as actors and the themes are based on real life struggles and situations and the problems in an everyday lifestyle. They usually are action based themes with violence drugs ir power but can vary due to the movie.
Here below we have a social realism timeline where we look at conventions for the BSR genre from the 60's till now and see how it has evolved and in which areas in particular it has changed/ been improved.
